Who are the seminars suitable for?

The image displays a welcome card for a meeting of the ‘Allgäu’ organic dairy, while participants are seated at a table in the background.
Our target audience includes everyone active in the organic food retail sector who works with cheese.

  • Are you the person in charge or the main point of contact for customers at the cheese counter?
  • Do you organise consumer events that include tastings of organic products?
  • Are you responsible for purchasing fresh produce at a wholesale supplier?
  • Are you opening an organic shop and need expertise in the field of cheese?
  • Or are you planning a company outing and would like to give your team an engaging behind-the-scenes look at artisanal cheese making?

Then we have just the thing for you!

In our ÖMA seminars, the basics and specialist knowledge relating to cheese are explained in simple terms. Among other things, you will learn how cheese is made, how to deal with foreign mould and, for example, how lactose intolerance is linked to cheese. Questions are welcome at any time, and our team of experts is here to provide further guidance.
Our seminars help you, the cheese professional, refine purchasing and advisory skills, enhance the profitability of your cheese counter and self-service displays, and ultimately lift sales performance.

Questions & Answers

Where can I register for the cheese seminars?
With the exception of registration for the Allgäuern Cheese Seminar, all registrations are handled by our partners.

The correct links to the booking pages or to the partners hosting the seminars and webinars are listed in our seminar calendar. Scroll down to the calendar in the ‘Seminar Offer Overview’ menu. In the calendar, select the seminar or webinar you wish to attend and then click the ‘Book now’ button.
How much does a cheese seminar cost?
Seminar fees vary depending on the format;

some prices are listed directly on the booking form. The seminar calendar provides links to both booking pages and partner venues hosting seminars and webinars.
Scroll down the ‘Seminar Offer Overview’ menu to the calendar. In the calendar, select the seminar or webinar you wish to attend and then click on the ‘Book now’ button. Here you will find further details about the seminar or the contact details of the partner hosting the seminar.
Looking for a cheese seminar nearby?
Our in-person seminars take place throughout Germany, and in some cases even in Austria and Luxembourg. Depending on whether you’re looking for a cheese seminar in Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg or North Rhine-Westphalia, your chances could be quite good.

You can find out very easily. Scroll down to the calendar in the ‘Seminar Programme Overview’ menu. In the calendar filter, select the ‘In-person’ field. Enter your postcode to see if an ÖMA cheese seminar is taking place near you.

If you cannot find what you’re looking for or have questions about the next session in your area, please feel free to contact us directly by email or telephone. You’ll find the relevant contact details at the bottom of this page.

Alternatively, if you prefer a digital training course delivered via your computer screen, you’ll also find these in the calendar and under ‘Cheese Webinars with Online Tasting’.
How long does a cheese seminar last?
Depending on the format, our seminars vary in length:

online sessions—including our cheese webinars with virtual tastings—last approximately 1.5 hours.

Our one-day seminars, ‘Cheese Knowledge for Beginners’ and ‘Cheese Knowledge for Advanced Learners’, are longer but still intensive, with around 8 hours of learning time scheduled.

For a comprehensive refresh and expansion of your cheese expertise, we recommend our 3-day Allgäu Cheese Seminar. Over these three days, you will deepen your theoretical knowledge, hone practical skills, and visit a farm and a cheese dairy.
Do I have to sit an exam to obtain a certificate?
Certifications are awarded exclusively in our in-person seminars, and no exam is required.
Am I a beginner or an advanced user?
Are you new to the cheese counter and need some basic knowledge? Do your staff need to refresh their knowledge of cheese?
Then the Cheese Knowledge seminar for beginners is the right choice.

Have you been working at the cheese counter for some time, have you already attended an Allgäuer cheese seminar or a seminar for beginners, and would you like to refine and deepen your knowledge of cheese?
Then we warmly welcome you to the Cheese Knowledge seminar for advanced learners.
